What is the LCDC Exeter Chocolate House?

A chocolate shop and community living room, all in one.

The Exeter, NH Chocolate House

Our chocolate house is a place to meet up with friends, read or talk about books, catch up on homework, take a class, or play a game or two. Think of it the same way Europeans view coffeehouses – as a living room away from home.

A revolutionary idea

When chocolate first become popular as a drink, “chocolate houses” sprang up in Europe and the American colonies as places to meet up, chat with friends, and enjoy a cup of warm drinking chocolate. Some of the ideas for the American revolution were probably formed over a cup of a hot cocoa drink.
